Recommended Usage

Place any pans of food you want to warm on the tray for at least 3-4 hours. If you use the crockpot to make a cholent, set up the crockpot Friday afternoon and place the Kova Warming Tray as the lid. The bumpers will prevent the tray from sliding that may be caused by any moisture that accumulates.

On Shabbat morning, place the pans of pre-cooked dry foods you want to warm on top of the Kova™ and leave it on the tray until you are ready to serve lunch – at least 3-4 hours later. The foods closest to the center of the tray will be warmest.

Remove the tray carefully. The underside of the tray will be quite wet from the moisture. (According to Jewish law, on Shabbat, after you have removed the Kova Tray from the slow-cooker, you may not replace the tray on top of it for the remainder of Shabbat).

Before storing for next use, be sure to remove the moisture from the underside of the tray. Dry it well.

Additional Recommendation: Use a crockpot liner cooking bag and twist it closed or add a little more water before placing the Kova Warming Tray on the crockpot.
